Tue 12th January

I find dreams strange. What causes us to dream? Why do we see what we see? It's very confusing... I'll look into it.

I started my Tuesday by waking up over a dream which I can't entirely remember, though I know it had me very upset. I have a good idea who it was about though - so thanks, subconscious brain, for opening up a wound I was pretty sure had healed.

I don't like form period. My form tutor isn't the best to be honest, I much prefered last years tutor. Anyway, she decided that she would call us back at dinner time because the whole form were being noisy, but as me and my friends in my form don't go to the form room at dinner we kind of forgot... Oh dear.

English brought up a shocking revelation - ladies and gentlemen, am I the only one who did not know that technically Romeo was a paedophile? He was thirty years old at the time of falling in love with a thirteen year old Juliet. I guarantee the second our teacher told me that you could have fit a freight train in my mouth.

I, being the nerd that I am, also did a bit of research when I got home. I was very interested about the Divine Proportion/the Golden Ratio/Phi and the Fibonacci sequence. Turns out that the Golden Ratio (1 + root5/2 (in decimal terms it is 1.61803...)) is just about everywhere. I was rather impressed at how clever it is, and how clever Fibonacci was when he discovered it. The Fibonacci sequence follows the rule that you add the two previous terms to get the next:

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34... etc.

Anyway, divide each number by the previous one. 1/1 = 1. 2/1 = 2. 3/2 = 1.5. 5/3 = 1.666. If you continue to do this, the number gets closer and closer to the Golden Ratio. If plotted on a graph, you see slight fluctuations at the start before it coming up to a perfectly straight line at... yes, you guessed it. The Golden Ratio. This number is also called Phi (represented by the Greek letter) and the decimal part (0.61803...) is usually represented by phi in lower case. Sorry about my lecture, just a bit of extra knowledge for you there.

As tonight I had an amazingly long research session I also discovered that the human body has the same energy in it as that of thirty hydrogen bombs (one hell of a lot). I also discovered that an atomic bomb only uses 1% of the energy it's capable of. Imagine how much carnage it would cause if we found a way to harness the remaining 99%. I plan on finding a way, don't worry. Now you've had a lesson in ancient Maths and Chemistry, I bet you're wondering when I'll get back to the blog.

Sun 10th + Mon 11th January

I must be the only boy who sits at home and guzzles tea, cup after cup after cup. Not healthy, I swear. Anyway, I'm doing both yesterday and today in one due to my negligence of my blog last night. Sunday was alright, had nothing much to do due to the accursed weather and lack of appropriate footwear, so we came to mine and watched Inglorious Basterds. It's actually a very very good film. I recommend it.

Nothing else really happened on Sunday apart from a game of 'Who Am I?', a game funnily enough inspired by watching the film (they're playing it in the bar scene). I was Mickey Mouse in the first round, Albert Einstein in the second, and diarrhea in the third. Interesting...

Monday was pretty uneventful, double History on a Monday morning is epic though. In P.E. Theory we're learning about disabilities, apparently someone who is both armless and legless is called a nugget? Well so Baris says anyway. And imagining a person who is just a head with arms and legs - we'll leave that to the imagination, I myself found it incredibly amusing whereas others might find it sick (most notably 74-year-old women who's sole purpose in life is to piss in their armchair).

Sat 9th January

The snow continued it's takeover bid against Great Britain today, creating five or six inch deep blankets of the white powdery stuff. If it wasn't for the prospect of school being cancelled due to the weather, I'd actually be getting rather sick of it snowing to be honest.

It's fun playing in the snow, until it comes to the point where your trouser bottoms are frozen solid and your feet feel like somebody is jabbing them with icy needles. Oh, and it must be a bummer losing your phone amongst the snow too - which is exactly what Dani managed to do.

What originally started as a five minute walk up to school ended up being a several-mile hike to Whiston, a little village which is about a fifteen minute drive away. We never actually got there, though - with Dani losing her phone combined with us being close to hypothermic, it was hardly possible. Turns out playing in the snow wasn't such a clever idea, after all. It astounded me how beautiful our area is when it's covered in snow though, usually I hate the place.

Once we couldn't bear the cold any longer, we decided to venture back to Su's and endulge in a nice hot chocolate and marshmallows... Mmmm. Despite it being a Saturday, it felt more like a Tuesday in the holidays; today just didn't have the weekend feeling.

Once I got on MSN, Hannah sent me a song (Roses by Outkast) which reminded me of being at my Dad's. My parents are divorced, not entirely sure what happened, and I used to spend every weekend at my Dad's house. Usually there was nothing to do, so I would sit and watch TMF in the hopes that one of the few songs that I knew back in my days of innocence would come on. But it always ended up being that song. Roses - Outkast. Up next... Roses - Outkast. And after the break? Roses - Outkast. Ok, maybe not that repetitive. But I grew to loathe the song. I stopped going to my Dad's every weekend, though. His girlfriend at the time wasn't too keen on me going every Saturday and wanted me to go alternate weekends, so that's what I did. I wasn't too keen on spending time with her anyway, to be quite honest. Eventually I just stopped going, because my Dad was doing something with his girlfriend, or they wanted me to go with them to a sixties car show or something. Now, my dad has a new girlfriend. Her name's Linda and she's really lovely, and I've started spending more time at my Dad's again, though I do suppose they'll still want me to go to car shows - my Dad's preference. My Mum also has a new partner, his name's John. Well I say new, he's lived with us for seven years. For the most part, we get along though there are times when we really piss each other off. He's great, though. So Hannah sent me this song, and she couldn't imagine why I didn't like it. Because it's a load of shit, Hannah, and i was subjected to continuous torture by the song in my early years of life... Ok, maybe not torture - it annoyed me because it was overrated and played too much.

As it's a Saturday I do plan on staying up until the early hours of the morning, even if I'm going out tomorrow. I'm really running out of things to say about today, as you can probably tell by my account of just about my entire childhood. Oh, and I just remembered. One of my all time favourite TV programmes starts again tonight! Heroes, BBC2 at 10:10pm, don't miss it man! For those of you who don't know, it's about a bunch of people who discover they have powers (as the title Heroes might suggest) and these powers cause all sorts of problems for the characters. It's gone downhill a little since the first series, though, maybe Volume 5 will redeem it.

My name is Ben Harry Waters;
I have nothing to prove to anybody.

To be honest i come across to many people as an arrogant, spoilt, smart-ass freak. But i can actually be nice if you give me half a chance :)

I'm fourteen; my birthday is the ninth of February. I prefer letters to numbers.
I live in Bramley, in Rotherham. it's terrible - save me?
I like varying my sentence openings so naturally this paragraph is a nightmare.
Yes, my favourite subject is English, closely followed by History.

I do want to be in a relationship, but the opportunity never presents itself - the only time it ever has fucking destroyed me, and ruined the second half of my 2009 in the process.
But the second half of 2009, as well as being the most awful time I've ever had, was the most amazing time i ever had, because i met a bunch of mentally handicapped freaks that I'm happy to call my friends.
Kitty, Su, Dani, Ellie, Molly, Billy, Mikey, Hannah, Paige, Baris, Steph, Stiffler.
People don't realise how much these guys mean - yes, we bitch, we argue and we piss each other off. But we're just one big dysfunctional family and these guys have stood by me through everything.

I find it so much easier to talk to strangers than people i actually know, which is why I've told this blog everything because 90% of the people i know will never read this.
I love reading though sadly English has made me over-analyze every book i read. my favourite book is misery by Stephen king.
I also love Drama, my favourite actress is Helena Bonham carter. She makes a good Bellatrix.

My dream is to write a series of best-sellers, and then have it made into a movie. And once that's happened, I'll probably go teach in a school because having a life with no job other than writing the occasional book and practically bathing in cash is not acceptable, is it? I'd also like to do something to do with journalism? I don't know, i apparently think that there is more time available than i actually have left to live.

i would like to visit Rome at some point in my life. My favourite colour is green. Southern fried chicken is my favourite food. Skittles are my favourite sweets. I like vodka shots. i prefer pineapple juice and/or cups of tea.. Hablo el Espanol. Je parle une peut de le Francais. i speak English.
I'm intelligent. People might think I'm vain, but i know I'm intelligent. It's not like I'm professing to be amazing at something I'm not - football for example. If i ever claim to be good at it, kill me. But i am intelligent. I aim to get all A*'s in my GCSE's, apart from P.E. I took Drama, History, Spanish and French. History is my favourite option that I have taken. I can't stand chavs. This paragraph is a mess without any form of orderly structure. It's supposed to be like that for effect. I analyze things too much.

I've rambled on long enough - the previous paragraph is the love child of boredom and the Internet.

Fri 8th January:-

School was still on, despite my prayers that it would snow so much that it wasn't possible to get there. I had English first - I actually really rather like Romeo and Juliet. I think Shakespeare was a very intelligent man though I don't think his works were that creative to be fair - more like Coronation Street than a classical play. They're amazingly written though - well done Will (I'm on abbreviated first name terms with Shakespeare). Maths second period wasn't too interesting, though me, Dani and Stiffler discussed the area of our internal organs - apparently the alveoli in your lungs stretched out would cover a tennis court!

Double P.E. periods 3 and 4, worst lesson of the week in my opinion. There's nothing worse than a worthless nobody trying to make themselves appear in any way tough, so naturally you can understand why I was put out when one of the most loathesome boys you will ever meet decided to make it his mission to piss me and my friend Baris off by hitting his ping-pong ball over to us, walking over to collect it and 'accidently' barging into us every time. He shut the fuck up when I informed him that he 'failed at life' and asked 'what he has to show for fourteen years of existence.'

Ending the week was double Spanish which I absolutely adore. We've got our usual teacher back which is a plus too. He calls me Benjamin despite that not being my name, though he says it in a Spanish accent. Normally between the two periods we get a little break, usually about five minutes. Today our teacher somehow managed to forget about us though, and it ended up being twenty-five minutes. I'm not complaining. Our new topic in Spanish is 'Publicity', which is basically advertising and stuff. Our teacher showed us this video to illustrate advertisement which actually had me in stitches. Year so far...

Okokok. I actually planned on writing a daily blog in 2010, but to put it bluntly: I forgot. So I'm going to start today on the 8th January and just give a little recap of the year so far (I promise it will be in more detail from now on):-

Fri 1st January:- Well the New Year started with a bang after a full blown argument at the party I was at. And it was actually unbelievable how bad i felt this morning, I didn't even drink that much. Went out for tea with my Nannan today and then went to Hannah's with Dani, Molly, Stiffler and Billy and watched Skins Series 1.

Sat 2nd January:- Ok, I'm sure I wasn't the only guy who thought Nine looked good. Or maybe I was. But anyway I went to see that today, with Kitty, Ellie and Mikey. It was a load of shit to be honest - but it had Judi Dench. Oh and I also had to pay full fare on the bus because I don't have a bus pass. Never stopped me before... lousy bus driver.

Sun 3rd January:- Last day of the Christmas holidays consisted of homework. Well actually, it was supposed to. But I slept instead for like the entire day, then fitted in a little homework after.

Mon 4th January:- First day back at school was O.K. I suppose, double History is my favourite! R.E. and P.E. Theory are quite literally loathesome though. My Theory teacher expected homework to be e-mailed in to him during the holidays - ridiculous.

Tue 5th January:- Mannnn! SNOW DAY! Was pretty pissed off they didn't bother warning us until half way up to school though - two early mornings and I was already sleep deprived. Could've done with an extra few hours in bed. Met everyone at Sycamore (that's a road where I live, we use the bus stop as our meeting point) and then went down to Hannah's for a while. Can't believe that girl hates Trivial Pursuit mannn! Then we went up to Molly's and played in the snow on a field near her house. Turns out a body board won't work as a substitute sledge and trying to pull the string will just break it. Go figure. Then went down to the Co-Op later that night - not been down there since October-ish! Was nice to be back.

Wed 6th January:- Once again school was closed, and once again they didn't bother telling us until we were all ready to go and be educated. Despite being off school, we insisted on going up there anyway to meet Oskar + Luke (who never showed up). We must have sat for two hours in the library waiting, although I amused myself with Su's phone. Turns out putting it down your trousers and sending it messages does feel rather nice... Then everyone came back to mine for the perfect snow-day entertainment... BOARD GAMES! Ok, so I'm sad. But Scene-It and Monopoly make me amazingly competitive. Oh and my Mum made us all soup to warm us up, so that was nice of her.

Thu 7th January:- Back to school. Lucky, lucky us, especially considering our heating is malfunctioning. I heard some dinner ladies talking about school closure - apparently we were the only school in the area open. Well, got our English Media coursework and Speaking + Listening marks back - full marks in both. Also came top in the year in my Science mock and got an A in Spanish A Level reading so I was rather pleased - my new French teacher who is also my Spanish teacher (yes I took both languages, French at GCSE and Spanish at A Level) told me my mark.


Right now I'm up to date with this year, though I plan on discussing every other day in more detail. I still have today to write so I'll get onto that now.
